As a documentary photographer families are so much fun to photograph. I love to shoot people in a raw photojournalistic and creative way, including the mess, the tears, the tantrums, the tired cuddles and all the beautiful bits in between. Whether you have a large tribe or a small one the photographs of this time your lives together will become treasures. I love to shoot families in their homes as I feel your home is an important part of your story, you might look back at the photographs one day when you have moved home or redecorated and feel nostalgic about that old sofa, those curtains and being able to capture your family in these surroundings can really pin point that moment in your history together. With toddlers and teenagers it’s always a nice idea to get outside for a bit whether it’s your garden, local, park, beach or fair ground. Getting the kids to get occupied with some activities while I snap away can really capture some awesome moments between you and your lot having fun together as a family. If your baby or toddler cries or throws a tantrum do not worry! They all do and these photographs will serve as some great black mailing currency when they are older. ;) Documentary family photography is all about capturing the raw real life moments that show the true spirit and individuality of you and your family as they grow. If this sounds like the kind of record you would like to have of your brood get in touch! I am based in Manchester but happy to travel.
