Fancy doing something a bit weird?

would you just like a photo of your family? Or a timeless portrait of you and your pet fish?

Facetime shoots have been described as a mix of Task Master (if you know the show) and a Facetime call with a photoshoot together, they are super fun and easy to do and have been keeping me sane for the past few weeks.

You don’t need any fancy equipment, just a smart phone.

It’s a lovely way to connect, be creative, a bit silly or just have a bit of a laugh. After the shoot you will have a lovely set of images taken by a professional photographer (me) to remember whatever is going on in your life at the moment.

It doesn’t matter where you are, these shoots can happen anywhere in the world!!! All you need is some wifi or 4G, a phone and and we are away on a magical photography journey around your house, garden or wherever you fancy!

How does it work?

iPhone

If you are on an iPhone you will down load an Ap called CLOS. In the AP I create a room where we both meet up and it’s very much like a Facetime call except I ask you to put your phone in different positions round the house and we have a little photo shoot and hopefully a good laugh or two while we are at it!

Android

If you have an Android phone you can down load an Ap called The Shutter Aps. With the Shutter Ap you can’t see me but you can hear my voice so you will be carrying my voice around from place to pace while we get some awesome photos of you in your home or wherever you are. It’s surreal, but fun.

Is there anything else we need to do before the shoot?

It can help to have something around to steady the phone, so far the best thing has been a tin of beans and a hair bobble. So if you attach me to this and pop me on window sills, kitchen counters, toilets, fences, chairs, stacks of tins. I’ve been balanced on all kinds of stuff.

If we are shooting at your home it’s good to use the spots where natural light pours in, so it’s good to make sure you are happy with these spaces before the shoot. When the shoot starts I will ask you for a quick tour of the rooms you are happy to use, so I can use my magic photographer mind to figure out the best place to put you and then the real fun begins, you might be surprised where you end up!

How much?

65 quid. The photos will be edited and delivered to you 2 weeks after the shoot via an online gallery for digital download. You can download 5 photographs from the gallery and additional downloads are priced at £5 per download.

What’s the quality like?

It depends on the model of your phone, I’ve worked with some pretty old models and the quality has been surprisingly good. With some models of phone high resolution photographs are possible. Have a gander at the blog posts below to see the results.

I don’t like getting my photograph taken isn’t it just going to be super awkward?

So far something I’ve noticed in people is that there’s something very disarming about having your photo taken with a phone, people seem to relax more, you are in your own space with your own phone what could be more relaxing than that. You are going to look awesome and we are going to have a load of fun. Lets get to it!
