Lauren and Dave's Beautiful Winter Wedding

Lauren and Dave’s wedding was my first Winter wedding, so it was a special one for me. I’d always been a little apprehensive of winter weddings, some photographers point blank refuse to do them, but when Lauren contacted me I felt I was ready for the challenge and I’m so glad I did! The wedding was awesome, the Thornton Hall grounds are beautiful (thankfully it didn’t rain!) and there was so much going on with so many characters, everyone seemed to have a really good day, with lots of laughter and good old fashioned messing around, but that’s enough from me I’ll let the photos tell the story…

1.52 Birthday Week

It’s been quite an eventful week, me and the gang travelled to a camping barn in Wigton at the weekend for my birthday and had a bit of a party and wander around.  We kicked it al off with a lovely meal prepared by my super efficient auntie Helen (there were 13 of us so it was quite a task with no real kitchen) after that we got the disco lights on and the party started and within a few hours my good friends Paul had bashed his head on a fire extinguisher and we were on our way to Carlisle hospital with some secret ambulance wine and a head injury between the 3 of us. 6 hours later we were back at the barn with a nice healthy Paul and some partying to catch up on. The sun was up and the usually boggy areas around us were beautiful in the snow so we took advantage taking a nice morning stroll in the snow and ice. I had lots of fun running around stomping through the ice and chomping on the snow like a 2 year old.

Birthday Blog

So every year when my birthday comes round,  I think about all the things that I’m thankful for the year and years that have passed. This past year has been an interesting one, my business has grown in ways that I’d have never expected, we’ve moved house (again) and now I have a lovely nature filled garden, full of blue tits, grey tits, chaffinch’s, our very own family of robins and plenty of squirrels. It makes me feel a little bit like Snow White looking out at the garden each morning and there are so many birds that visit us that I have never ever seen before.  So one aim for next year is to get a bird book and learn all the names of the birds that visit our garden and here are a few other things that I want to achieve this year, excuse me for the boring list, but I know that when you make things public you are more likely to follow through (I’m trying to use peer pressure on myself in a positive way).

Mocks Autumn Winter Adventures

Autumn is here, the leaves are changing from luscious greens to vibrant yellows, oranges and reds, the floor has begun to collect a crispy brown layer of leaves, making walk through the park on a clear brisk morning that little bit more exciting. Our wardrobes are changing too, out with the bright summer colours and in with the warm Autumnal tones. Hell I’ve even bought a new seasonal throw for the sofa! So the time has come for the fashion conscious chicas at Mocks to get there autumn frocks on and go for a frollick in the great out doors… Well the local park and my over grown forest like back garden. This is what is looked like….

Mocks British Summer Adventure....

The Summers nearly over, so I thought I best quickly get this blog up of the fun packed shoot I did recently with the trendy Mocks lot in North Wales. We were forecast some typical British Summer weather; Biblical rain fall, 20 mph winds, occasionally interrupted by a blazing hot spell of sunshine and we got it, right in the chops!

When Mocks asked me to create their summer campaign, I thought, "What would I like to do on a summer holiday with my mates?" The answer; Camping, camper vans, frollicks on the beach, some bike riding on the beach while dragging some balloons around in a gale force winds? (not advised), checking out the amusements and all the other stuff I wasn’t allowed to take photos of.

We had a wicked team, well when I say team it was a small army of us  (13) over a 2 day shoot. I booked us into some ‘top class’ apartments at my own childhood holiday home where dreams were made... Pontins, thinking we’d be living it up (mistake) after about 2 minutes Cat, Alex, Nicki, Rachele, Roberta, Keith and Kit quickly exited our spacious apartments and made for the nearest hotel. While in the Pontins Camp; Roy, Francesca, Vaal, Nicola, Matt and Me kicked back in our luxury bunk beds, nestling into our paper thin bedding and scoffing at the loons that had left this paradise for 4 star service, private rooms and plush carpets in the hotel over the road.

American Freshman Shoot.

A few months ago I had the pleasure of shooting the beautiful Bethany Riley and Bronte Sumners of Boss Model Management for an American Freshman campaign. It had been throwing it down for bloody ages and ages before the shoot, typical Manchester weather, but we had to trust the weather report (risky!) and get ourselves out there! Thank goodness the sun stayed out for the whole shoot. A big THANK YOU to my wonderful team and apologies it's taken so long for this post! It's been a hectic few months since then. ;) x
