Festival Wedding Alert! Victoria and Steve's Awesome, DIY - Back Garden - Tipi - Farm Wedding.

00021J&M.jpg

Victoria and Steve’s wedding was as intimate as it comes, they got hitched on a beautiful sunny day at Holy Trinity Church, Tythby, Nottingham in the very same church where Victoria’s parent’s got married, from the church the guests walked just a few steps down the road to Victoria’s childhood home where an awesome teepee reception, lots of bubbly and plenty of surprises were eagerly awaiting them. It was very much a DIY wedding with everyone chipping in, metal sculptures made by Victoria’s Dad, beautiful flower arrangements came from the lady next doors own garden, while on the other side their neighbours lent their farms fields for friends and family to camp over night, one particular heroic local family took on the mammoth task of serving everyone food and even doing all the washing up by hand. Decorations were hand made and sourced by Victoria from local charity shops and entertainment ranged through the day from a staged puppet performance to Victoria getting up and blasting out some mammoth tunes with her band, even nailing down a Jimi Hendrix solo on her Clarinet. It was truly a wonderful day, jam packed fun and all the magical little details and hard work from everyone on involved made it even more special. I loved every minute of it. Thanks for having me Stix (Victoria) and Steve! ;) xx

Manchester Wedding: Beatriz and Brendan's Urban; Music, Graffiti, Skate Boarding and Break Dancing?*

When I first met Beatriz and Brendan at their home in Chorlton, Manchester it was clear that the Manchester’s Music Scene had played a big part in them getting together. Beatriz and Brendan have been together for 15 awesome years, their love story began one sweaty noisy night at Manchester’s Road House Music venue where they first smacked eyes on each other, over a crowded room packed with dedicated music lovers and sparks flew. 15 years on they are still besotted with each other, Brendan hitting top groom points for surprising Beatriz on their wedding day with a gospel choir, a personalised graffiti mural and a swish chauffer driven Jag to wizz them around town.

*They aren't really breakdancing they are just shit at handstands ;)

Baltic Quarter Wedding Liverpool - Lucy and Josh.

When I first met Lucy and Josh I knew we were on for a bloody good wedding. Not only are they both dazzling beauties, but they have great taste in music and a really chilled out attitude and that came through in their super relaxed day. Lucy and Josh got married in beautiful and intimate ceremony in St Georges Hall, then with a Mr. whippy in one hand and a glass of champers in the other, they pilled on a London bus with their guests and made their merry to Siren in the Baltic Quarter to get the party started. At Siren Lucy and Josh’s guests were greeted with home made cocktails and psychedelic harmonies from Niamh and Fiona of the Sundowners. With no speeches or formal meal planned their guests soaked up the sunshine, enjoyed the music, sipped on cocktails and ate from the BBQ in the garden. As the sun went down guests moved in doors to listen to the funky rhythms of the Robert Mather Band before getting down and dirty on the dance floor and the decks came out and shapes got made.

P.S. If you are wondering where they got their lovely buttonholes and flowers from, Josh made them! I was ever so impressed with his floristry skills.

Bromwich Park Wedding: Rachel and Bob's Rock and Roll Festival Wedding in a Dis-used Dairy Farm.

Rachel was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar when she first met Bob, Big Hands in Manchester to be precise. When Rachel first told their mutual friend Guy that she fancied Bob (Bob had always fancied Rachel) Guy told her “No! No! You are both too loud.”  Nearly a decade and a half later Rachel and Bob are on a sunset Safari in Dubai, when Bob sneakily kneels on the floor pretending to take a photo, whips out a ring and asks Rachel to marry him. Rachel said yes of course but was a bit pissed off that he’d asked her while she was wearing leggings and so that’s how this story begins…

Rachel and Bob managed to plan the most epic wedding in just a few weeks. The venue Bromwich Park was perfect, beautiful scenery and just the right mix; disused dairy farm meets grungy night club to give their wedding the Rock and Roll Edge that they were going for. They had some of Manchester’s most talented musicians and wordsmiths to provide the sound track for their day and even had their good friend Guy marry them, in a tear jerking open air ceremony.  One of Rachel and Bob’s top priorities on their wedding day was making sure they threw an awesome party for their most loved friends and family, and they had their work cut out for them as they are a popular duo with 230 guests! But they totally fucking nailed it.
